Tours to NorwayIf you love the outdoors and your idea of a perfect tour is relaxation and perfect scenery, then Norway is the ideal destination. Norway can be reached by air from the UK, or by cruise ferry (24 hrs) from Newcastle to Bergen. Arguably the most attractive area to visit is the Western Fjords, making the ancient Hanseatic town of Bergen, with its characteristic wooden buildings an ideal base for your tour. Alternatively you might like to stay in the stunning lakeside town of Voss, around two hours from Bergen, which is surrounded by snow capped peaks throughout most of the year. From here you can take the steeply ascending Flam railway as part of the popular "Norway in a Nutshell" tour. Norwegians love music and are very proud of their national composer Edvard Grieg, whose house can be visited at Troldhaugen not far from Bergen. Outdoor concerts are not recommended in Norway, as it can rain even during the summer. However, most communities are eager to put on a concert either in the local church or community hall and audiences are warm and welcoming. Popular places to stay Some favourite concert venues |
